Google to Begin Recommending Apps to Users Searching on Mobiles

Google will be promoting Android apps to users searching on mobile devices, including apps that are not already installed on the device
Google has revealed that from now on when users are searching Google on their Android device they may be presented with Android apps which are related to their search query.
In the past, only apps that were already installed on the users device would appear within the search results. However, as a result of App Indexing, relevant apps will now appear on the results page.
Google has said: “If you’ve implemented App Indexing, when indexed content from your app is relevant to a search done on Google on Android devices, people may start to see app install buttons for your app in search results. Tapping these buttons will take them to the Google Play store where they can install your app, then continue straight on to the right content within it.”
The content contained within the Android apps will contribute towards the app’s ranking as a result of the mobile search algorithm that was first revealed in February. The algorithm is due to be update on the 21st of this month which not only affect mobile apps but also mobile-friendly websites.
Google has commented: ”with the addition of these install links, we are starting to use App Indexing as a ranking signal for all users on Android, regardless of whether they have your app installed or not.”
