OUTRAGE AS “N***A HOUSE” TAKES YOU TO WHITE HOUSE ON GOOGLE MAPS

by George Gangar20th May 2015

Google have a lot of explaining to do. Searchers have recently discovered that the term “N***a House” takes them to the residency of President Barrack Obama, when entered into Google Maps.

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, more commonly known as “The White House”, has been the official home of the US President since John Adams back in 1800. Every year millions of people, from all over the world, gather outside its fences to get a glimpse of what has become the most iconic building in the United States of America. However it is now attracting media attention for a very different reason.

It seems as if someone has taken it upon themselves to use Google’s Map Maker service to reroute searches, for the above mentioned term, directly to the door of the US President. A Google spokesman has said:

“Some inappropriate results are surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologise for any offence this may have caused.”

The racial slur is the latest in a long line of “hacks” that have appeared on Google, however it is the first to be truly offensive in nature. Have a look at our recent article for some of the more lighthearted things that have been appearing on Google Maps.
